The Razer™ Switchblade – Revolution in PC-Gaming?

Attention to all gamers out there!

Have any of you ever felt like you had to trade being stuck in your chair and in front of your monitor to play your most cherished PC games?

Does it annoy you when you’re about to pawn some ass but all of a sudden you are pawned because you pressed the wrong button on the traditional keyboard?

Do you feel like your awesome gaming skills is limited by the “kryptonite” which is the standard gaming profile of the games you play?

Well, say goodbye to these pestering boundaries, and say hello to one of the newest breakthroughs in the PC-gaming world;

The Razer™ Switchblade.

Small but Fierce - The Razer™ Switchblade

Gaming on the go? Very much possible nowadays with portable consoles such as the PSP and Nintendo DS. But there is one thing these consoles do not have. PC games. Your favourite games on PC stays on the PC, and even when you use a laptop to play em’, all the shortcomings of a compressed computer is there to ruin your day, like a minimized keyboard, lower video performance, and so much more. Although just a concept, the Switchblade is aimed to defy these rules, and Razer™ has outdone themselves time and time again in the world of gaming.

Fits in your hand! - The Razer™ Switchblade

Built by using Razer’s cutting edge design and experience in gaming, with Intel’s superior computing technology, the Switchblade is powered by the Intel® Atom™ processor. While most of the netbook users out there would say that the conventional netbook is slow and unable to meet the high demands of graphic and processing power by modern PC games, the Atom™ processor used in the Switchblade is an enchanced version, which previously was made for small form computing. The modifications made by Intel® to the architecture of the Atom™ enables increased speed of the integrated graphics engine and enhanced video performance, making the Switchblade powerful enough to run high-end PC games, on the go.

What makes the Switchblade any different from other laptops or netbooks, besides the ability to support heavy duty games? The answer lies in the design of the keyboard and the ultra-sensitive multitouch screen. Any touchscreen device may look or feel cool, like the iPhone, iPad and all the other Android gadgets. But when put together with an innovative tactile dynamic keyboard (heavy stuff, i know), just like an awesome sandwich, you get an awesome device. To simplify terms, the keyboard of the Switchblade changes according to the game or the application that is being used. For instance, when using office tools, a normal QWERTY keyboard is shown on the keyboard. When playing games, another set of keys show on the keyboard, depending on what key function the game uses. You might not get the clearest picture in words, so please, take a look yourselves.

Wow. Awesome. Stunning. The current spec’s for the Razer™ Switchblade are: 172mm x 115mm x 25 mm dimension, Intel® Atom™ processor running on Windows 7 OS, 128GB SSD hard drive (yes, a solid state drive),WiFi and 3G connectivity, and has MINI HDMI, USB3.0, standard Headphone and mic ports (3.5mm). Sadly, this holy grail of gaming is not available in stores yet. As mentioned before, the Switchblade is merely a concept design, but have no fear, because Razer will be working with selected partners to design and launch products based on the Razer™ Switchblade. Till then, we gamers would have to live with just a sneak peak of this revolutionary device. Oh, and by the way, the Razer™ Switchblade kicked ass at the CES (Consumers Electronics Show) 2011, winning the People’s Voice Award. Now how’s that for a concept design?
